Getting around Panchkula

Panchkula is well connected with Chandigarh and the hills. Here is how locals get around.

Buses

Panchkula’s main bus stand serves Haryana Roadways routes across Haryana and to Delhi, along with local and tricity buses that link the sectors with Chandigarh and Mohali. Mansa Devi Complex has its own bus stand.

Autos and cabs

Autos run across the city; agree the fare or use an app. App cabs and bike taxis are widely available.

Trains

  • Chandigarh Railway Station is the closest major station for the older sectors.
  • Chandimandir, Pinjore and Kalka stations are on the line to Kalka.
  • Kalka is where the toy train to Shimla starts.

Airport

Chandigarh International Airport is south of the tricity, reached via the Zirakpur side. Allow extra time at rush hour.

Driving

The Panchkula-Pinjore highway and the roads to Zirakpur get congested at peak times. On weekend mornings, traffic towards the hills builds early.
